Assistant Manager- Great Benefits Discount Tire, founded in 1960, is a leading independent retailer of tires and wheels in the United States. We are seeking an Assistant Manager to support day-to-day retail operations in our Automotive (vehicles/parts/service) environment. In this role, you will help lead a high-performing store team focused on delivering outstanding customer service, operational excellence, and a safe, efficient shop. As an Assistant Manager, you will work closely with the Store Manager to oversee sales, service, and workflow on the sales floor and in the service bays. You will coach and support Customer Service Representatives and technicians as they assist customers with tire and wheel selection, vehicle inspections, and product recommendations. You will help ensure every customer receives friendly, professional service, accurate quotes, and timely completion of work, all while maintaining Discount Tire’s high standards for safety and quality. You will participate in scheduling, training, and day-to-day supervision of store staff, helping to assign tasks, monitor productivity, and resolve customer concerns. You will help track inventory levels for tires, wheels, and related products, assist with ordering and stock rotation, and verify that merchandising, pricing, and promotional displays are accurate and appealing. You will also support basic store administration, including cash handling, point-of-sale accuracy, documentation of services performed, and adherence to company policies and procedures. Because this is a hands-on automotive retail role, you should be comfortable working both in the showroom and in a shop environment. You will help ensure that safety protocols are followed in all vehicle service activities, that equipment is used properly, and that work areas remain clean and organized. While extensive mechanical experience is not required, familiarity with basic tire and wheel services—such as mounting, balancing, rotations, and inspections—and a willingness to learn more advanced procedures are important.
