Sterile Processing Technician

Our team is hiring local Sterile Processing Technicians to support our growing team. The Sterile Processing Technician's responsibilities include retrieving contaminated supplies and delivering sterile supplies, maintaining inventory, and preparing sterile instrument trays for surgeries, examinations, and procedures. We're looking for a self-starter who can manage their time effectively. The role requires drive and a sense of accountability because the day-to-day working environment will involve very little direct supervision. FLOAT- Location Coverage & Flexibility This role requires the ability to float between all three locations to provide coverage and operational support as needed. The technician will report primarily to the Main location, except on days when coverage is requested at the Ogden location or the offsite Holy Cross facility. Endoscope Processing & Certification The incumbent must have prior experience processing endoscopes and be willing to obtain Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) certification within six (6) months of hire. Responsibilities: Collecting used and contaminated equipment, instruments, and supplies for sorting and decontamination. Manually cleaning supplies of contaminants, removing waste matter, and operating and maintaining decontamination equipment. Preparing and packing decontaminated supplies for sterilization. Monitoring and operating sterilization equipment. Examining supplies meticulously to ensure they are properly cleaned and sanitized. Testing and reporting any issues or problems with the sterilization equipment. Sterilizing, preparing, wrapping, and organizing equipment into instrument trays for use during medical procedures. Preparing and delivering all necessary equipment and instruments for surgeries, examinations, medical procedures, and medical carts. Maintaining records of sterilization procedures, sterilized items, equipment maintenance, and supplies. Controlling the inventory, reordering supplies, and checking expiration dates. Other duties as assigned. Good oral and written communication skills Knowledge of and commitment to quality improvement Flexible approach to work practices Computer literacy Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements High school diploma or equivalent 3-4 years' experience in a healthcare setting CRCST or CBSPDT certification Active BLS certificate Must be able to speak, read, write and understand medical terminology in order to follow written instructions and complete various forms and records regarding equipment's processing and preparation of equipment's.
