Job Description

About the Role:

The Security Patrol Officer plays a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of the assigned premises in East Palo Alto. This position involves proactive monitoring and response to potential security threats, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and regulations. The officer will serve as a visible deterrent to unauthorized activities while providing assistance and support to employees, visitors, and emergency responders. This role requires vigilance, quick decision-making, and effective communication to manage incidents and maintain a secure environment. Ultimately, the Security Officer contributes to the overall protection of property, personnel, and information assets, fostering a safe workplace culture.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid security officer license as required by California state law.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a security role or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of emergency response procedures and safety regulations.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Experience with electronic security systems and surveillance equipment.
  • Additional training in conflict resolution or de-escalation techniques.
  • Familiarity with local Sacramento laws and regulations related to security.
  • Previous experience in a Level 2 or supervisory security position.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols of the facility to monitor for suspicious activity or safety hazards.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logs of daily activities, incidents, and security breaches.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures related to access control, visitor management, and workplace safety.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to employees and visitors, ensuring a professional and courteous presence at all times.
  • Provide assistance to office staff in any community related issues or tasks.
