Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Assistant Manager - Restaurant to join our vibrant hospitality team at Dairy Queen Grill and Chill Fort Lauderdale. In this pivotal role, you will lead daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient food preparation, and seamless team management. Your enthusiasm for the food industry and strong leadership skills will drive a positive dining experience for guests while maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and operational excellence. Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, including shift management, staff supervision, and customer service delivery.
  • Coordinate food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality standards are met consistently.
  • Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and reducing waste through effective food management practices.
  • Supervise and train staff on food handling, safety procedures, POS system
  • Handle cash transactions accurately, perform cash handling duties, and reconcile daily sales reports.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Support hiring processes by interviewing candidates, onboarding new team members, and fostering a culture of continuous training & development.
  • Assist in budgeting efforts, cost control initiatives, and implementing operational improvements to maximize efficiency.
  • Lead by example in hospitality management, demonstrating leadership in supervising staff during busy shifts while maintaining a positive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in restaurant management or supervisory roles within quick service & fast food restaurants or casual dining establishments.
  • Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management with fine dining or catering experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively through training & development initiatives; previous assistant manager experience highly valued.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, inventory control practices, and food industry regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with food production processes, and managing restaurant operations in a hospitality or hotel environment is advantageous.
