HCA Healthcare is seeking a compassionate, skilled Registered Nurse Perinatal and Maternal Newborn to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our perinatal and mother–baby care department. In this role, you will provide comprehensive, family‑centered nursing care to women during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and the postpartum period, as well as to healthy and at‑risk newborns. You will collaborate closely with obstetricians, midwives, pediatric providers, lactation consultants, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, evidence‑based care and an exceptional patient and family experience. The Registered Nurse Perinatal and Maternal Newborn will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized nursing care for birthing patients and their infants. You will perform thorough maternal and newborn assessments, monitor vital signs and fetal heart patterns, recognize and respond to changes in patient status, and safely administer medications and treatments. You will support labor and birth, assist with obstetric procedures and cesarean sections as needed, and provide direct care in both antepartum and postpartum settings. You will also promote bonding and attachment, assist with breastfeeding initiation and newborn feeding plans, and provide education on postpartum recovery, newborn care, and safe discharge planning. Working within HCA Healthcare’s culture of compassion, teamwork, and learning, you will use critical thinking and clinical judgment to prioritize care in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining a calm, reassuring presence for patients and families. You will advocate for patient safety, actively participate in unit‑based quality and patient experience initiatives, follow all infection prevention and documentation standards, and contribute to continuous improvement in perinatal and maternal‑newborn outcomes. You will precept or mentor new nurses and students as appropriate, engage in ongoing professional development, and stay current with perinatal, maternal, and newborn best practices. As part of a leading healthcare organization, you will have access to robust resources, clinical support, and professional growth opportunities. This position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on families at a pivotal moment in their lives while advancing your nursing practice within a collaborative, patient‑centered environment. The ideal candidate is a dedicated RN with strong perinatal or maternal‑newborn interest or experience, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering safe, respectful, and culturally sensitive care across the continuum of pregnancy, birth, and the newborn period.
