Job Description

Litigation Attorney

A highly regarded, full service law firm with a national footprint seeks a litigation associate to join its New York City office.

This is an opportunity to build a true trial practice at a firm known for exceptional training, deep client relationships, and sophisticated work across business critical disputes.

The Practice

The litigation group has a long standing reputation for excellence in complex commercial matters and is consistently recognized by leading legal directories for both trial strength and strategic counseling. Attorneys regularly handle matters from pre litigation strategy through discovery, trial, and appeal, working directly with experienced partners who are active courtroom advocates.

The New York office works closely with a nationally respected real estate platform, and this role offers the chance to gain meaningful exposure to high value commercial real estate disputes alongside a broad diet of general commercial litigation. Prior real estate experience is helpful but not required. Strong litigation fundamentals and sound training are the top priorities.

The Role

  • Generalist trial attorney position with an emphasis on commercial litigation
  • Meaningful responsibility on active matters, including motion practice, depositions, court appearances, and trial preparation
  • Regular collaboration with lawyers in other offices on national matters
  • Exposure to sophisticated commercial real estate disputes, development related issues, and lender borrower matters
  • Direct client contact and hands on experience early in your tenure

The Ideal Candidate

  • 2 to 4 plus years of litigation experience
  • Solid training from a large law firm or a well regarded mid size firm with strong hands on experience
  • Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills
  • Comfortable managing multiple deadlines and working closely with partners and clients
  • Strong interest in developing as a trial lawyer
  • Commercial Real Estate Experience a plus but no required

Why This Firm

  • Nationally recognized for litigation and real estate excellence
  • Longstanding client relationships with leading companies, financial institutions, developers, and investors
  • Collaborative culture with a strong emphasis on mentorship and professional development
  • Lean teams that provide real responsibility rather than siloed staffing
  • A reputation for quality work without sacrificing collegiality or perspective

This role is ideal for a litigator who wants serious courtroom training, sophisticated matters, and the chance to deepen commercial real estate exposure within a supportive and highly respected platform.
