Creative Leadership
The role of creative leadership will guide the strategy, development, and implementation of creative initiatives throughout the organization. Acting as the driving force that converts business objectives into effective, compliant, and performance-based campaigns. Working closely with commercial, product, and digital teams, this position will translate defined business goals into clear creative strategies, messaging frameworks, and cohesive campaign execution. This individual will play a critical role within the organization, ensuring that all creative endeavors are not only engaging and distinctive, but also rooted in customer insights and in line with legal and regulatory standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Function as the primary strategic and creative advisor to channel leaders, product managers, and digital teams, translating business goals into actionable creative guidance.
- Act as the liaison between business objectives and implementation, transforming requests (such as growth targets, product launches, channel priorities) into campaign strategies, messaging blueprints, and content strategies.
- Cultivate and manage partnerships with internal teams and external agencies to deliver consumer-centric concepts across various touchpoints, including packaging, digital/print ads, social media, email, UX/UI design, and content creation.
- Ensure that the creative function is not just reactionary, but actively influencing how the organization is perceived in the market.
Messaging, Campaign Development, & Audience Insights
- Develop a thorough understanding of both B2C and B2B target audiences.
- Translate customer insights, objections, and motivations into compelling and compliant messaging.
- Lead brainstorming sessions for campaigns that align with specific business objectives.
- Customize all campaigns to suit the audience, platform, and context, while maintaining consistency with brand guidelines.
Creative Excellence, Execution & Interdepartmental Collaboration
- Supervise all creative output to ensure it is on-brand, of high quality, unique, and visually appealing.
- Support the execution of campaigns by collaborating with internal teams and external partners to bring concepts to fruition.
- Operate effectively within a regulated environment, ensuring all creative assets comply with legal and regulatory standards while still making an impact.
- Continuously enhance brand guidelines, creative processes, and oversight across all touchpoints and channels.
Leadership, Operations & Performance Impact
- Guide, mentor, and nurture a top-performing creative team while overseeing external partners to ensure alignment, quality, and execution across all projects.
- Enhance and streamline workflows and operational models to enable the creative team to support multiple stakeholders efficiently while maintaining productivity.
- Manage creative resources, timelines, and budgets to deliver projects on time, within budget, and as per specifications.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to evaluate creative performance, gather insights, and consistently optimize campaigns to enhance business results.
- Complete other assigned tasks and adhere to instructions from supervisors or designated personnel to achieve company objectives.
- Effectively communicate with team members, supervisors, and other departments, fostering a positive work environment as an active team player.
Minimum Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in creative leadership, brand strategy, and integrated marketing, demonstrating a track record of translating business goals into impactful creative campaigns.
- Experience in regulated or highly governed industries (e.g., food, healthcare, supplements, pharmaceuticals, or prominent CPG organizations), showcasing the ability to develop compelling creative within legal and regulatory constraints.
- Profound understanding of B2C and B2B marketing dynamics in healthcare, veterinary, retail, or ecommerce settings.
- Proven expertise in spearheading integrated, omnichannel campaigns spanning packaging, digital, social media, ecommerce, and content platforms.
- Strong business acumen and analytical skills, with experience in evaluating creative performance, interpreting data, and linking creative output to business metrics.
- Background in building, leading, and expanding creative teams and agency collaborations, establishing processes, prioritization methods, and workflow optimizations.
- Proficiency in standard creative tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, etc.), with the ability to assess and guide the production of high-quality design and content.
- Travel requirement of 10%–20%.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in marketing or a design-related field. An MBA or other relevant advanced degree is a bonus.
