Assistant Manager- Career Growth Opportunity Discount Tire, a leading independent retailer of tires and wheels founded in 1960, is seeking an Assistant Manager for our Retail Operations team in our automotive vehicles/parts/service environment. In this role, you will support the Store Manager in daily store operations while helping to lead a high-performing team dedicated to safety, efficiency, and exceptional customer service. You will assist with supervising sales and service staff, ensuring all team members follow proper procedures for tire and wheel installation, vehicle safety checks, and shop cleanliness. You will engage directly with customers on the sales floor and in the service area, greeting guests, understanding their driving needs, and recommending the right tire and wheel options to fit their budget and vehicle specifications. As an Assistant Manager, you will help manage scheduling, delegate tasks during busy periods, and monitor workflow to reduce wait times, all while maintaining a friendly, professional atmosphere. You will assist with training and coaching team members on product knowledge, safety protocols, and customer service best practices, providing feedback to help them grow in their roles. You will also support inventory management by helping oversee stock levels, organizing deliveries, and ensuring that displays and storage areas are neat, accurate, and compliant with company standards. Basic cash handling, point-of-sale oversight, and assistance with daily reporting and store opening/closing procedures will also be part of your responsibilities. You will work closely with the Store Manager to ensure the store meets performance goals related to sales, productivity, and customer satisfaction scores. This includes reviewing key metrics, helping to resolve customer issues or complaints, and ensuring that Discount Tire’s policies and procedures are followed consistently.
