GAINSCO is seeking an Actuarial Data Technician to support key actuarial processes through data setup, retrieval, validation, manipulation, and reporting. This role is ideal for an early‑career, data‑minded professional who enjoys working with numbers and building dependable datasets and tools that enable actuarial analysis and business decision‑making. You’ll also help identify opportunities to automate recurring work and improve report accuracy and efficiency. What does an Actuarial Data Technician do at GAINSCO? Pull, query, aggregate, and manipulate data from multiple sources to support actuarial projects and analyses. Assist with data validation and creation of data reports used for results analysis and management decision‑making. Support weekly management reporting and maintain underlying data files and tools. Help interpret and reconcile data across actuarial and accounting‑related data sources. Support system testing and validation to ensure accuracy, credibility, and consistency of data and outputs. Identify opportunities for automation to improve productivity, repeatability, and data integrity. Support the rate filing process by maintaining underlying data sets, support files, and documentation. Troubleshoot issues, remove obstacles, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. What is required? Education Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a quantitative analytical field such as Math, Statistics, Finance, or Economics. Experience Minimum of 1 or more years of related data experience in a quantitative/analytical role or internship. Experience with Power BI or similar reporting/visualization tools. Exposure to industry data sources or actuarial reporting environments. Strong numerical aptitude and comfort working with numbers. Strong knowledge of relevant data analysis tools. Strong experience using SQL, VBA, R, Python, or similar tools for data extraction. Basic knowledge of relevant industry data sources. Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Knowledge of P&C insurance products is preferred. Skills and Abilities Ability to understand and work with clean, validated data to achieve project goals. Strong problem‑solving and process automation skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Highly organized and detail‑oriented with a high learning agility. Self‑motivated individual capable of working independently and contributing to a dynamic team in a fast‑paced environment. What else do you need to know?
